MikroKera Launches New Line of Chemical Sensors

Synkera has introduced the first two products in its new MikroKera line of sensors. Designed for low power, the MikroKera H2 and VOC sensors promise to meet the needs of customers in industrial health and safety, air quality monitoring and process control applications. Both the new MikroKera and the company’s current ProKera sensors accommodate the requirements of instrument and systems manufacturers.

The MikroKera family of sensors uses Synkera’s micromachined, nanostructured ceramic microsensor platform made from anodic aluminum oxide (AAO). The company says this microsensor platform offers a combination of performance, reliability and scalability.

The two sensors use the same sensing materials that have been successfully deployed in Synkera’s ProKera VOC and hydrogen (H2) sensors, while reducing power consumption to about a fourth that of the ProKera line, according to the company. Additional MikroKera sensors for detection of chlorine (Cl2),  ammonia (NH3) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) will be introduced later this year.
