National Instruments Announces LabVIEW 2012 at NIWeek

At this week’s NIWeek conference, National Instruments (NI) announced updates to its LabVIEW system design software, which provides engineers with the tools they need to create and deploy measurement and control systems through hardware integration.

LabVIEW 2012 has new tools and resources to help build a measurement or control system that will scale for the future, according to the company. New capabilities and features include templates and sample projects, self-paced training, and stability improvements. It also includes new tools for high-performance analysis and advanced image processing, productivity enhancements, and mobile apps for display and control on an iPad.

According to the company, LabVIEW 2012’s templates and sample projects provide recommended starting points designed to ensure the quality and scalability of a system. All of the templates and sample projects are open-source and include documentation designed to indicate how the code works and the best practices for adding or modifying functionality. In addition to demonstrating recommended architectures, these projects also illustrate best practices for documenting and organizing code.
