PTC (Needham, MA) recently unveiled a Pro/Engineer packing strategythat comprised for five, ready-to-deploy bundles that scale to meet theneeds of single users on up through enterprises. Pricing ranges from$4,995 to $24,995, and general availability begins on April 1.

With a base price of $4,995, Pro/Engineer Foundation XE (ExtendedEdition) is designed for single users or small design shops with designprocess of low to medium complexity and little or no need forcollaboration. In addition to solid modeling, capabilities include 2Dand 3D drawings, mechanism design and design animation, theModelCHECK-QA-Tool, and a complete library of parts.

At $6,995, the Advanced SE (Standard Edition) builds off Foundation XEand is designed for small or dispersed teams that need collaborationtools. In addition to all you get with Foundation XE, this packagecomes with Windchill PDMLink, which you can host yourself or deploywith PTC’s PLM On Demand. Another highlight is the inclusion of aone-year subscription to PTC University web-based training.Pro/Engineer Advanced XE takes this and adds your choice ofPro/INTRALINK or Windchill PDMLink data management onsite or On Demandas well as your choice of a high-performance module for free-formsurfacing, piping/cabling, and so forth.
 
As their name implies, the Pro/Engineer Enterprise XE and SE editionstarget the increased design, collaboration, and project managementneeds of enterprises with medium to high complexity design processesand products. The Enterprise SE offering comes with fivehigh-performance modules, Windchill ProjectLink for collaboration andproject management, and all of the features of the earlier versions.

At the top of the line, Pro/Engineer Enterprise XE builds offPro/Engineer Enterprise SE and includes Mathcad for engineeringcalculations, Pro/Engineer Mechanica for simulation and analysis,ProductView Standard Edition for advanced visualization, and ArbortextEditor. Additionally, you have access to PTC University for more than75 hours of training.
