NextComputing  announced its latest mobile server and portable workstation, the Radius EX Plus. According to the company,  it provides enterprise-level computing power, storage, and flexible customization options for users who need the power of a rackmount server or tower workstation, but in an all-in-one package that is small enough to be easily transported.

The computer features AC 110/220V and 48V DC input options up to 650W 1+1 redundant, or 1300W 2+1 redundant; mixed AC 110/220V and 48V DC in the same system; up to 14 no-tools removable hard drives, and up to 18 fixed hard drives or 20 solid state drives.

Redundant power options protect important data and processes on the system in the event of either an external power source outage or internal power supply failure. Rather than manage multiple connectors or adapters, the Radius EX Plus offers both AC and DC power input in the same system, making it very easy for the user to work in both environments, the company says.

“As a specialized design manufacturer for high-performance,  small-footprint computing systems, our product roadmap is driven by customer requirements,” said Bob Labadini, president and CTO of NextComputing. “The Radius EX Plus was developed not only in response to specific needs, including redundant power, mixed AC and DC input,  and more accessible storage, but this product also addresses larger trends in the industry.”
