Now shipping from Autodesk are Autodesk 2009 manufacturing solutions, which enable manufacturers’ use and implementation of digital prototyping, the ability to design virtually a complete product and simulate how the resulting design will work under real world conditions, before it is actually built.

Included in the 2009 product lineup are the enhanced versions of the Autodesk Inventor product line: AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Electrical, the Autodesk AliasStudio product line, Autodesk Showcase and Autodesk Productstream software.

Inventor 2009 Family of Products

The Inventor 2009 family of products furthers the mission of Autodesk to provide digital prototyping solutions featuring enhancements to core design tools for more cost-effective and productive workflows. According to the press release:

Enhanced Sheet Metal Design – The Inventor 2009 product line simplifies the design of a large range of widely used sheet metal constructs by providing digital prototypes that faithfully represent the as-manufactured part.

Enhanced Simulation – Numerous enhancements to the dynamic simulation environment make the tools more accessible and easier to use,  allowing users to more efficiently validate their digital prototypes very early in the design process.

Native 64 Bit Support – The Inventor 2009 family of products ships with 32 bit and 64 bit implementations so users can take full advantage of newer 64 bit computers.

Other Autodesk 2009 Manufacturing Solutions

The latest versions of Autodesk’s other Manufacturing solutions are also shipping including the following (as listed in the press release):

AutoCAD Mechanical is AutoCAD software for manufacturing,  purpose-built to accelerate the mechanical design process. The 2009 release features include support for the international GOST drafting standard and instant access to a Favorites List of standard parts.

AutoCAD Electrical is AutoCAD software for controls designers, purpose-built to design electrical controls systems quickly and accurately. The 2009 release features include a Circuit Builder that allows users to dynamically generate circuits based upon functional requirements.

The AliasStudio product family provides a set of tools for the industrial design process, helping companies create superior designs in less time. 2009 features include reference manager for referencing large data sets and new align tool for modeling.

Showcase software helps users create accurate, highly realistic representations from 3D CAD data,  enabling informed decision-making on digital prototypes. Showcase 2009 features include updated ambient shadow features and an expanded library of realistic materials.

Productstream software securely stores and manages engineering design data and related documents, increasing design reuse and collaboration. Productstream 2009 features increased performance and improved integration with Inventor.

Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009, Autodesk Inventor Suite 2009, Autodesk Inventor Simulation Suite 2009,  Autodesk Inventor Routed Systems Suite 2009, are now shipping. As are AutoCAD Mechanical 2009, AutoCAD Electrical 2009, AliasStudio 2009, Showcase 2009, Productstream 2009 and Productstream Professional 2009.
