Microsoft has released its Windows Server 2008 R2 service pack 1 beta, which includes Microsoft RemoteFX. NVIDIA says it has been working with Microsoft’s development team for some time on it with the company’s Quadro professional graphics solutions.

According to NVIDIA, partnerships with leading OEMs are forming to bring NVIDIA Quadro-Server-Microsoft RemoteFX with enterprise-class reliability to market. The company says it will deliver a rich user experience for server-hosted desktops.

Enabled by server-discrete-GPUs, NVIDIA says this solution will move the corporate user’s PC workload into the server room. IT managers can service those users’ PC requirements with anytime/anywhere, secure access. According to NVIDIA, RemoteFX,  combined with NVIDIA Quadro GPUs, will enable the full Windows 7 desktop experience including 3D media for “thin” clients from anywhere on a company’s network.
