Objet Geometries has released TangoBlackPlus, a new material that allows designers and manufacturers to create parts that more closely resemble a range of rubber products. The material allows for a shorter finishing process, allowing users to accelerate time-to-market.

“TangoBlackPlus was created to fill a need among Objet customers, and represents our full commitment to their long-term success,” said David Reis, CEO of Objet Geometries. “By offering companies the added benefit of simulating the look, feel, and function of rubber products, we are offering them the ability to move
products to market faster”.

TangoBlackPlus that can be ordered under the FullCure 980 catalog number. It is supported by Eden and Connex 3D printer families.

Objet is simultaneously launching a new digital material pack for the Connex family. The offering is available exclusively on the Connex350 and Connex500 3D printers, which are capable of simultaneously printing multiple materials with different mechanical and physical properties.

The pack provides 3D printing users with 18 new materials comprised of combinations of VeroWhite and TangoPlus or TangoBlack Plus. The new materials encompass the SHORE A hardness scale (from 27 to 95) characterizing a range of rubber/elastomer based products. With these materials, Connex users can print parts, such as wires and cables, grips and handles, plugs and connections, shock absorbers, function buttons, gaskets, and seals, among other rubber applications.

The new rigid materials simulate the strength and toughness of products made of such standard plastics as PP, LDPE, HDPE, PVC and PS. Up to 11 different rigid and flexible materials can be combined in a single part in one build.
