Okino Ships PolyTrans for Adobe Director Xtra Plug-in System, 2 in a Series

Okino Computer Graphics (Toronto, Ontario) is shipping its updated PolyTrans for Adobe Director, a plug-in system that is compatible with the new Adobe Director version 11. PolyTrans for Adobe Director is a native Xtra plug-in for Director (versions 8.5 through 11) that allows all supported Okino 3D import converters to be accessed directly from within the Director user interface. Converted 3D assets can either be embedded into a Director cast member or linked to external Shockwave-3D files.

“Director users will now be able to easily and transparently import assets from dozens of industry standard 3D file formats and multi-media authoring packages,” said Robert Lansdale, President and CEO of Okino Computer Graphics, Inc., “using converters that Okino has developed and supported over the last 20 years. Specifically for this Xtra plug-in system, we have added special processing functionality which allows for automated polygon reduction, model resizing,  automatic light placement, hierarchy compression, hierarchy optimization and access to our suite of polygon processing tools, all within the Director user interface and as an integral part of the 3D file import process.”
