Omega Introduces PCI Serial Interface

October 2, 2007 — Omega Engineering Inc. (Stamford, CT) offers the OMG-COMM4-LPCI-DB25 Low Profile PCI serial interface, which provides four RS-232 serial ports capable of data rates to up 460.8K bps. Each RS-232 port implements all modem control signals for maximum compatibility with a range of peripherals. The CE-compliant board is MD1 Low Profile and Universal Bus (3.3V and 5V)  compatible and uses a 16C864 UART to provide 128-byte Tx/Rx FIFOs for maximum reliability in data-intensive applications. The serial interface includes a 1 m cable that terminates to four DB25M connectors. The OMG-COMM4-LPCI, suited for chemical, automotive, and water industries particularly HVAC, chemical processing, environmental monitoring, and lab use. Price is $229 for all models.
