One-Day Workshops Bring 3D Measurement Solutions Directly to Users

Sponsored ContentDear Desktop Engineering Reader:

If you're a user of 3D measurement and documentation gear noodling a technology upgrade or if you're considering a first investment in measurement technology, today's Check it Out link takes you to what sounds like a very interesting opportunity to see the newest technologies first hand and get your questions answered.

FARO Technologies has announced a series of one-day, no-charge workshops covering 3D measurement and documentation hardware and software. There’s 52 of them throughout the US, Canada and Mexico to be precise, so it's a good bet there’s one near you.

Called “Must See 3D Solutions Workshops,” these hands-on events are designed so that you can learn how 3D measurement and documentation tools can help you solve challenges, optimize processes and maximize productivity. Each workshop will address real-world challenges across various applications and industries, including aerospace, automotive and other manufacturing as well as AEC (architectural, engineering and construction) and public safety. The workshops will offer concurrent two-hour breakout sessions by industry and will feature live demos of FARO's hardware and software that best fits an industry's concerns and workflows.

Among the topics on the agenda are integrating 3D measurement technology into existing workflows, best practices for common processes, justifying return on investment and comparing, as well as evaluating, different solutions. And since the sessions will be open discussions with technology experts, it's fair game to come armed with your own set of questions.

In the metrology for manufacturing breakout session, you'll see live demos of a lot of FARO's new equipment and software you've read about, including the FARO Edge ScanArm HD contact/non-contact measurement arm with blue laser technology, the portable FARO Vantage Laser Tracker CMM (coordinate measurement machine) for large volume and tight tolerance measurements, the 6-degrees of freedom FARO TrackArm and the CAM2 Measure 10 metrology software solution for tactile measurement and non-contact 3D scanning.

The workshop tour dates run from October 13th to November 17th. Thankfully, sign-in (with complimentary breakfast) runs from a civilized 9 to 10 a.m. After a complimentary lunch, you can participate in one-on-one meetings and open forum Q&A sessions. The workshop ends at 2 p.m.

There's no registration fee for FARO's “Must See 3D Solutions Workshops,” but you should register your seat, as spots are limited and, my contact at FARO tells me, they're filling up quickly. Hit today's Check it Out link for the full skinny on the workshops. On the landing page, click on the “Register Now” or “Reserve your seat today” buttons for a complete list of venues and to access the registration form. This sounds like fun.
