LMS and IPG Automotive join forces to enhance vehicle simulation.

LMS International (Leuven, Belgium) and IPG Automotive (Karlsruhe, Germany), which specializes in virtual test driving, entered into a partnership agreement to integrate IPG-DRIVER, IPG’s virtual driver model, into the LMS Virtual.Lab Motion software.

As a result of the agreement, the LMS software gains capabilities to simulate and analyze the interaction between a vehicle and its driver. LMS Virtual.Lab Motion models front- and rear-axle suspension, and the addition of the Virtual Driver Model from IPG enables users to “test drive” the models in real-life scenarios. 

IPG-DRIVER can simulate a range of standard and extreme test maneuvers like steady-state turn, braking in a turn, and an ISO lane change. It includes numerous driver operations such as steering, braking, accelerating, or gear shifting. It also covers simulations of complex closed-loop maneuvers, which is important for the development of control systems like ESP and ABS.
