Perceptron Launches ScanR CMM Line

The generation is suited for reverse engineering and production-part inspection.

Perceptron has launched the first green laser-line universal CMM (coordinate measurement machine) scanner. The technology, according to the company, is suited for reverse engineering and production-part dimensional inspection.

The new generation of the ScanR CMM Laser Scanner includes the following features:

  • Enhanced dynamic range for a wider coverage of the color spectrum and reflectivity;
  • Improved material coverage to be compatible with carbon fiber, polished and plated metal;
  • Increased accuracy and improved edge detection;
  • Adjustable data acquisition rate for high-quality and high-speed operation;
  • Large field of view and depth of view.
The scanner is compatible with Perceptron’s TouchDMIS metrology software, which has a one-touch scanning interface that allows for user setup with a tactile probe.

“Perceptron has been a leader and innovator in the field of CMM laser scanning and measurement for more than 20 years. The launch of the new ScanR Universal CMM Laser Scanner extends our leadership position and fully exploits the business synergies of the COORD3 CMM and Next Metrology Software acquisitions executed earlier this year,” says Jeff Armstrong, CEO, Perceptron.
