SYCODE releases stand-alone mesher.

By Sara Ferris

SYCODE (Panaji, India) launched Point Cloud 1.0 (295 Euros), a stand-alone application for reverse engineering.  Point Cloud allows users to wrap a mesh around or drape a NURBS surface over point-cloud data imported from a text file. The surface can be draped along the 6 orthogonal directions or in a custom direction. Point Cloud 1.0 can also compensate for probe diameter when points were recorded by a touch probe digitizer.

Point Cloud 1.0 uses the OpenSURBS 3DM format as its native file format for storing point, surface, and mesh data. The company also makes reverse-engineering plug-ins for AutoCAD and Rhino.

A fully functional trial version of Point Cloud 1.0 is available for download at www.sycode.com/products/point_cloud/index.htm.
