Planit (Kent, UK) will preview Radan 2009 R1, the newest version of its CAD/CAM software for sheet metal manufacturing, at IMTS 2008 (Chicago, September 8-13, 2008).
Radan 2009 R1 offers improved material utilization, new programming, and usability features including more powerful algorithms for nests using Common Line Cutting on profiling machines, improved nesting algorithms and geometry analysis providing even greater accuracy and material utilization; improved scrapping of sheets resulting in increased ease of use for machine tool operators; remnant creation for improved material handling and utilization; editing functions for punch tooling and punch overlaps enabling users to quickly and easily change tools or edit the tool setup, resulting in faster programming times; redesigned interface for configuration and customization of the end user’s system including the ability to edit run time estimates in the verifier sequence based on how long each operation takes on the user’s specific machine, resulting in more accurate run time estimates; and enhanced 3D import/export tools.
