QLogic Corp. (Aliso Viejo, CA) expanded its portfolio of products, services, qualifications, and an ecosystem program for HPC networking.

The QLogic 7200 20Gb DDR HCA is a fast InfiniBand HCA with low scalable latency, high bandwidth, and fast messaging rate, all of which are standards for performance of a cluster interconnect, says the release.

It also offers an InfiniBand switch designed for Oracle clusters. The SilverStorm 9020 Enterprise Cluster Accelerator is designed for Oracle Real Application Clusters, and delivers director-class InfiniBand fabric switch availability, performance, and scalability in a cost-effective and compact package. It includes gateways to Fiber Channel storage networks and Ethernet data networks.

Improved bandwidth and scalability for IBM GPFS is available via QLogic’s high-performance InfiniBand interconnect solution, optimized for the IBM General Parallel File System (GPFS), which includes the only optimized Sockets Direct Protocol (SDP) for GPFS internode communication. This is certified by IBM, and improves bandwidth and scalability of the file system without requiring modifications to GPFS.

Other features include SilverStorm 9000 20Gb DDR InfiniBand switches; the QLogic HPCtrack program, now available to QLogic HPC customers and partners, is designed to provide faster access to new InfiniBand technology, to certify the interoperability of ecosystem products, and to provide a basis for closer collaboration on performance optimization of multi-vendor solutions; and more.
