Report: 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping Services in the US

Report states the industry is slated to grow 17.9% by 2019.

IBISWorld has updated the report “3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping Serivces” in its library.

According the report, the years 2014-2019 are expected to grow at an annual rate of 17.9% to approximately $422 million. The industry performance is connected to the manufacturing sector’s success. Additionally, industry products have been increasingly used in the medical field for customized medical devices.

“Developing a prototype is an essential part of product development, and manufacturers are often weighed down by the time and costs involved in the traditional prototype manufacturing process,” according to industry analyst James Crompton. “Therefore, when the economy is doing well, manufacturing activity largely determines industry revenue. Additionally, smaller players have increasingly entered the market, and this trend is expected to continue over the next five years.”
