In past years, scientists have used chess to train artificial intelligence. While this helped robots analyze a set of sequential decisions, a human player was defeated 19 years ago. To foster innovation in AI, some researchers are now turning to soccer. With the sport, robots must be cognitive of multiple players, and make impromptu decisions on the field.
