RuleStream Corporation (Wakefield, MA) signed an agreement with Autodesk ( San Rafael, CA) to use Autodesk’s RealDWG engine to augment the integration of AutoCAD software into RuleStream’s existing software programs.
RuleStream is a provider of Standards Based Engineering (SBE) solutions that help discrete manufacturers capture, manage, and reuse engineering knowledge.
With this extension to RuleStream’s current AutoCAD integration, AutoCAD users benefit from RuleStream’s approach to knowledge management that spans sales, engineering, and manufacturing operations. By capturing engineering knowledge and using it to automate key business processes across the enterprise, RuleStream’s clients reduce internal operating expenses, shorten lead times, increase sales win rates, and increase overall profitability. This seamless integration with AutoCAD software will help custom and complex product manufacturers respond to customer-specific orders rapidly, accurately, and efficiently, says the company.
Developing on the RealDWG platform enhances RuleStream’s ability to serve companies that use AutoCAD software as their primary CAD system, or otherwise need to generate 2D drawings or 3D models as part of their sales quotation and order fulfillment process. With RealDWG, design rules captured within RuleStream will be able to automatically generate native AutoCAD documents that are fully compliant with Autodesk’s popular DWG file format, generate fully associative 2D drawings, create 3D models, and leverage the reusability of AutoCAD software dynamic blocks.
