VISTAGY, Inc. has announced that SNSP, a Russian maritime firm that has been a producer of minesweepers since 1937, has purchased FiberSIM composites engineering software to design and manufacture composite hulls, hull spars, and supports. SNSP has also purchased VISTAGY professional services for training as well as on-site assistance in developing composites design methodologies.
SNSP will be using FiberSIM to design an 80-meter hull. They will use the software to develop layup information and to automate ply information to be sent to cutting and laser positioning machines.
This is VISTAGY’s second recent sale of FiberSIM to a shipbuilder. Howaldtswerke-Deutsch Werft GmbH (HDW), a company of the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, has purchased FiberSIM software to design and manufacture parts for submarines made of advanced composite materials.
