Siemens Releases Parasolid 27.1

The new version features enhancements in its Blending and Surfacing tools, Modeling Support and Platform Support.

Siemens PLM Software has launched Parasolid version 27.1, which delivers several enhancements to support complex modeling workflows. These upgrades, according to the company, enabled application developers to deliver step changes and productivity to end users. The new release features enhancements in its Blending and Surfacing tools, Modeling Support and Platform Support.

Version 27.1 provides extended control over blend shape. This allows users to more easily control the profile of G2 face blends and define variable radius edge blend parameter over a chain of edges.

For surfacing, this release gives more flexibility to desired designs. Updates include:

  • Replacement of sharp mitred corners created by a sweeping profile;
  • Alignment for parameterization of extruded surfaces with the extrude direction;
  • Optimization of parameterization of a new face when replacing a set of faces;
  • And sweeping a profile along a path with the option to extend the path beyond one or more faces.
Modeling support includes changes to assist detailed modeling in fewer steps. This version provides users with the ability to imprint a set of curves that are coincident with a face as a group or imprint a curve onto faces of a body with greater influence.

Parasolid version 27.1 is now compliant with the Microsoft Security Development Lifecycle for increased security.
