Siemens Releases Parasolid v28.1

Features include new convergent modeling technology and integrated facet modeling operations

Siemens PLM Software has released Parasolid v28.1, which includes new convergent modeling technology and integrated facet modeling operations. This major innovation is complemented with our regular release of enhancements to B-rep modeling, providing customers with the most comprehensive and robust set of modeling tools in the industry, the company states.

With convergent modeling technology, facet models can be created and modeled in Parasolid v28.1 using established functions for classic B-rep models. Supported operations include Booleans, sectioning, hole-filling, hollow/offset/thicken, rendering, faceting output, read and write XT, data import and export, checking and repair, imprinting, sheet trim and extend, swept and spun outline, extrude, topological and geometric enquiries, mass properties, min/max distance (closest approach), clash detection and topological and geometric enquiries.

For model editing, v28.1 has improvements to isocline surface generation, diagnostic reporting for body extension and control over geometry of laminar edges during patch operations.

Surface modeling has also been updated for constant radius face blend creation, enhanced general modeling, simplified versioning and an extended Symmetric Multi-Processing (SMP) feature.
