Smoke and Fire RS-25 Rocket Engine Test

A look at NASA's testing of the RS-25 rocket engine.

This video gives viewers an exclusive look at the process involved in fire testing the RS-25 engine. The approximately 9 minute test conducted at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi is the sixth in the current series of seven evaluations of the former space shuttle main engine. Once complete, four RS-25 engines will power the core of the Space Launch System, which will carry passengers to an asteroid and Mars.
