solidThinking Releases Inspire 2015

The platform now has several user-suggested features.

solidThinking has released Inspire 2015. This version, according to the company, combines faster geometry functions with an updated user interface and expands the scope of complexity of problems that can be addressed. New capabilities have also been added via requests from the user community.

Added features from the users include fasteners, joints and contacts. This enables designers to quickly model, optimize and analyze assemblies.  For fasteners and joints, Inspire can connect multiple parts in a model after identifying areas with aligned holes. Contacts can now be designated as bonded, contacting or no contact to neighboring parts.

Additional functions allow users to add G loads to a model via the Model Browser and a ribbon style user interface.

“Professionals using Inspire rely on its ability to simulate realistic loading conditions,” says Andrew Bartels, program manager for solidThinking Inspire. “With support for assembly optimization, users can now incorporate a surrounding structure into their optimizations and gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between multiple components.”
