Luxology LLC (San Mateo, CA), developers of artist-focused 3D software, announced that DS SolidWorks has entered into a technology licensing agreement to use Luxology’s Nexus rendering technology.
As one of the leading 3D mechanical CAD software vendors worldwide, Dassault Syst mes’ (DS) SolidWorks selected Nexus for its modern architecture and superior rendering capabilities. Luxology’s technology licensing program enables partners to leverage the company’s Nexus software architecture to build targeted 2D and 3D applications for the PC and Mac, or to add new 3D capabilities to existing software.
Luxology offers a variety of associated professional services to its technology licensing partners, including custom development and a variety of support options.
Nexus 4 is Luxology’s cross platform media-aware architecture that supports the rapid deployment of 2D and 3D authoring and visualization applications, and is the same technology that is used to develop the award-winning modo software. Nexus 4 includes a variety of modeling, sculpting, rendering, painting and animation capabilities, is multi-core aware and fully scriptable using Perl, Python or LUA.
