Autodesk Inventor used to model complex roof curvature for 2010 Richmond Olympic Oval.

It’s not every day a new building is designed and constructed for an Olympic sport. Yet that was the assignment StructureCraft Builders, a Canadian conceptual design and fabrication firm, was tasked with when it created the wave paneled roof of the 2010 Richmond Olympic Oval—the unique structure that will be used for ice skating competition in the 2012 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

StructureCraft turned to Autodesk Inventor software and Autodesk reseller IMAGINiT for its design efforts. Using Inventor,  StructureCraft streamlined modeling processes for the complex curvature of the roof’s wooden wave panels that would have previously taken weeks to only a few minutes.
