Survey Results on Worldwide CAD Trends Released

Business Advantage has released the survey results for its recently completed 2014 worldwide CAD trends report.

The survey covers 14 trends, including 3D modeling, building information modeling (BIM), cloud-based CAD, 3D printing and big data applications. According to a press release, some of the survey’s findings include:

  • America has the highest usage of 3D printing (26%), compared with Europe (12%) and Asia Pacific (11%).
  • CAD mobile access is growing in usage and awareness.
  • Cloud-based CAD has low usage and importance among CAD users.
The survey also included responses to questions regarding annual software investments, current hardware used for CAD and download percentage of CAD models.
