Tata Technologies, Detroit Lions Launch STEM Programs in Two Detroit Schools

Tata Technologies, the Detroit Lions and the nonprofit organization Athletes for Charity have formed a partnership to empower Detroit public school students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers. This initiative will educate students about these career paths while also developing literacy and writing skills.

The curriculum, according to the company, will include monthly book distributions by various Detroit Lions players, that deliver age-appropriate STEM titles to students. Throughout the 10-month program, Tata Technologies Staff and Lions players will volunteer as readers. The two schools that have been selected for the program are the Dixon Educational Learning Academy and Clark Preparatory Academy.

“The demand for skilled workers in science, technology, engineering, and math is on the rise while the availability of qualified applicants is on the decline because students are not pursuing degrees and careers within the sector,” said Alisa Harewood of Tata Technologies.
