Tech Soft 3D (TS3D; Berkeley, CA), a provider of core graphics components to the engineering software industry, announced that aPriori (Concord, MA) has licensed HOOPS for use in its Product Cost Management software platform.
With HOOPS, aPriori will extend its capabilities for automatically costing parts and assemblies by allowing users to view, select and control product cost drivers directly in the interactive 3D model display. HOOPS is a set of extensible, high-level components that simplifies the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance, interactive 2D/3D applications. HOOPS components provide the technology building blocks for developers to create custom, high performance applications capable of driving OpenGL and/or Direct3D.
The aPriori Product Cost Management Platform is said to be the first software solution to provide discrete manufacturers and product companies with real-time, predictive and precise product cost assessments throughout the entire development and production process.
