Tecplot, Inc. has released the 2009 versions of Tecplot 360 and Tecplot Focus, the company’s visualization software products. These new versions help users create visuals with less work, further enhancing the products’ ease-of-use and making it easier to share data, plots, or images with colleagues.

Tecplot 360 2009, the company’s flagship product, is Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) visualization and analysis software that combines engineering plotting and advanced data visualization into one tool. Tecplot Focus 2009 is engineering plotting software designed to help users quickly plot, analyze, and present engineering and test data.

Enhancements to both products offer:

  • More useful, powerful 3D images. Carve out components to reveal other important features with the new surface clipping feature.
  • New animations. In less than a minute, create animations that smoothly pan, zoom, and rotate 3D plots.
  • Expanded data and file sharing. Export data in formats compatible with Tecplot 360 2008, Tecplot Focus 2008, and Tecplot 360 2006.

Tecplot 360 2009 is available for Windows Vista and XP (32-  and 64-bit), Mac OS X (32- and 64-bit), Linux (32- and 64-bit), and most major UNIX platforms. Annual license pricing starts at $3,200 in the U.S. Tecplot 360 2008 users with current SMS agreements can upgrade to Tecplot 360 2009 at no cost.

Tecplot Focus 2009 is available for Windows Vista and XP (32- and 64-bit), Mac OS X (32- and 64-bit), and Linux (32- and 64-bit). Pricing starts at $1,500 in the U.S. for a single-user perpetual license. Tecplot Focus 2008 users with current SMS agreements can upgrade to the 2009 version at no cost.
