As part of its yearlong 60th anniversary celebration, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has released a review of what it deems the most impactful science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)-related literature. The compilation spans the past nine years of SWE magazine’s annual reviews of social science literature on women in engineering. The reviews provide analysis of published documents in the engineering and technology fields with a focus on women’s issues, ranging from work/life balance to outreach to diversity in higher education.

“This comprehensive collection of literature reviews recognizes the significance of research to address the issues facing women in STEM fields,” says Nora Lin, SWE president. “Publishing this collection during our 60th Anniversary Celebration reiterates the advances we’ve made in the recruitment and retention of women in the profession, and the challenges that lie ahead.”

Funded by the Henry Luce Foundation, the compilation will guide readers through past publications and research. The collection also includes a search feature that enables easy access to nearly a decade’s worth of research.

The compilation is available electronically to the public and will be updated yearly to provide the most current research.
