Thinkbox Software Releases Sequoia 1.1

Native Linux support is now available in the point meshing software.

Thinkbox Software has released the latest version of Sequoia, a point cloud meshing application. Additional advancements in version 1.1 include native Linux support along with new workflows capable of maintaining georeferenced data precision, and simplifying the process of exporting textured mesh data to 3D applications and game engines.

Other feature additions include baking high-resolution point colors to texture maps, support for new point cloud file formats, including Zoller + Fröhlich and Riegl; new mesh file formats, including Autodesk .FBX, U3D, and 3D PDF; and new image file formats CIN, DPX, HDR and SGI. Scripts for importing meshes and textures in Autodesk 3ds Max and Maya are also provided.

“Sequoia had solid launch last winter, and the new features in Sequoia 1.1 are exciting. We aim to help our users work smarter, and this latest update is a testament to that mindset,” said Chris Bond, founder, Thinkbox Software. “One of the coolest applications we’re beginning to see from our users is bringing real world assets into real-time environments for VR experiences. We’ve made this process faster than ever with support for the FBX file format and our one-click texture baking workflow.”
