The new version of the general purpose discrete-event simulation software from Alion MAandD Operation (Boulder, CO), Micro Saint Sharp Version 2.5, is now compatible with Microsoft Visio, allowing users to import business and technical drawings and turn them into process simulation models.

In addition to this expanded capability, Version 2.5 has a new Scenario Viewer for visualizing and adding scenarios, as well as new reporting options including tasks and scenario time-line reports. There is a new ability to reuse model components with referential tasks and paths as well as an option to create model “snapshots” with a new automatic variable data collection feature.

The overall look and feel of the software has also been updated, with a new “Go To” window, extended output options, and an improved communication plug-in.

Micro Saint Sharp has a flow-chart approach to modeling, allowing the user to rearrange and change aspects of the process modeled. The software is available now from Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts, UK). Full details are available by clicking here.
