New 2D/3D hybrid raises the bar on 3D MCAD.

August 29, 2007 — UGS PLM Software (Plano, TX) is shipping the English version of UGS Solid Edge Version 20 to customers worldwide and will ship nine more languages during the coming 10 weeks. It enables manufacturing companies to reduce costs and increase revenue.

This latest version of UGS Solid Edge software, which was reviewed by Desktop Engineering in July 2007: “Solid Edge V20 Hits the Spot,” is a hybrid 2D/3D design system and a core component of the UGS Velocity Series portfolio. It features more than 170 enhancements, including plant equipment and ‘massive’ assembly design, service-oriented architecture (SOA) architecture, productivity improvements through Goal Seeking and tabulated drawings.
