T-Splines, Inc. (Provo, UT), a provider of advanced 3D modeling software in styling, industrial design, CAD, and CAE, announced that the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) research group at the University of Texas at Austin has licensed its T-Tools software development kit.

The FEA research group, headed by Professor of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics Dr. J. R. Hughes, plans to use the advanced surfacing capabilities of T-Splines to explore new frontiers in FEA. The T-Splines software development libraries known as T-Tools are available for license to OEMs and academic research programs.

“T-Splines technology is uniquely qualified to solve the problems we are investigating,” said Dr. Hughes, a pioneer and noted expert in computational mechanics, particularly nonlinear finite element methods for solids and fluids.
