PTC announced that Vitamix is streamlining its industrial design and engineering processes through PTC Global Product Development. By using PTC Creo to develop new products, Vitamix is enabling faster design decisions and aiming to cut product design times by 25 percent. The company is also now implementing PTC Windchill to further expand engineering and operational efficiencies by enabling secure sharing of product information across a highly distributed design team.

Vitamix manufactures and markets blending and mixing products directly to the public and the restaurant/hospitality industry.

“It is all about efficiency in innovation,” said Greg Moores, vice president of engineering, Vitamix. “I want my engineers and designers spending their time designing the best blenders in the world, not struggling with the design toolkit. PTC Creo is optimizing our design processes while fueling new product development.

“Incorporating PTC Windchill into our system to manage all product and project data is our biggest strategic initiative in the coming year,” Moores added. “As we look toward new innovations, our annual output of new products is now going to be driven by PTC Creo and PTC Windchill. We believe, with that pairing, that we can reduce time to market by 30 percent.”
