VMware Unveils New vCloud Air Mobile and Hybrid Cloud Services

Features include PrivateCloud onDemand, Air Object Storage and Enterprise Mobility Management.

VMware has unveiled new hybrid cloud service capabilities and a lineup of third-party mobile application services for enterprise and application developers.

The VMware vCloud Air is a hybrid platform for existing and new applications. It supports mobile-cloud applications such as Virtual Private Cloud onDemand and Air Object Storage. The Air Object Storage feature will include lifecycle management, versioning and large object features to reduce management overhead.

VMware’s Hybrid Mobile Cloud solutions offers a choice of capabilities to meet a variety of customer needs, the company states. Features include Enterprise Mobility Management, Mobile Backend as a Service, Mobile Application Development Platform and Rapid Application Delivery.
