The NEWPORT wiSeries wireless sensors from NEWPORT Electronics, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) provide Web-based monitoring of temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. The radio is a high-power IEEE 802.15.4 compliant transmitter operating at 2.4GHz that can transmit over 1,000 meters outdoors without obstructions.

The coordinator/receiver connects directly to an Ethernet network and the Internet and it serves active web pages to display and chart the data. You can monitor and record temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure over an Ethernet network or the Internet using just your Web browser and no special software.

You can even set alarms to be notified by e-mail. Alarms can be sent to a single user or to a group distribution list, including text messages to cell phones.

The wiSeries wireless sensors, designed for demanding industrial applications and harsh outdoor environments, has electronics that are protected in a rugged weatherproof, polycarbonate NEMA4/IP65 rated housing.

NEWPORT offers wireless sensor/transmitters that run on either batteries or AC power. The battery version comes with two alkaline D-Cell batteries that can last for years. The AC version comes with a universal AC adapter that operates on any voltage worldwide (110-230 VAC) and also includes an ultra-long-life lithium backup battery.
