Webinar Announcement: Turning Workstations into a Virtual HPC Cluster

You probably don’t make a habit of monitoring your machine’s performance as you work, but if you do, you might find that multicore workstations, most of the time, have a lot of untapped computing horsepower left. Word processing, emailing, data management, web browsing, and even CAD modeling seldom make use of all the cores in a multicore workstation.

What if there’s a way to turn these untapped cores into a virtual HPC cluster?

What would you do—or what could you do—if you suddenly have a secondary HPC resource in the form of a virtual cluster? The best part is, the engineer doing CAD work at the desk won’t see the system becoming sluggish, even though the machine he or she is using is now also running HPC jobs in the background.
